Court victory for Christian mom banned from adopting foster children over religious beliefs on LGBTQ agenda

A Christian mother will be able to begin the adoption process and continue her lawsuit against the state of Oregon after the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in her favor on Thursday. Jessica Bates said that she was inspired to become a foster mother to two children after her husband died in a car crash in 2017. She is a single mom to five biological children.

UK to begin enforcing online age verification for porn July 25

Starting July 25, websites hosting pornography in the UK will be required to verify that users are at least 18 years old, as new age regulations take effect. The rules, which will be regulated by Ofcom, will block minors from accessing adult content by requiring strict age verification methods. Adults may be asked to scan their faces or upload a photo ID to confirm their age, depending on the site, according to Daily Mail.

The US fertility rate reached a new low in 2024, CDC data shows

The U.S. was once among only a few developed countries with a rate that ensured each generation had enough children to replace itself — about 2.1 kids per woman. But it has been sliding in America for close to two decades as more women are waiting longer to have children or never taking that step at all. The new statistic is on par with fertility rates in western European countries, according to World Bank data.

Babies born in UK using DNA from three people and merging two embryos into one

Babies born in UK using DNA from three people and merging two embryos into one

Eight babies created using the DNA from three adults have been born in the UK. The technology, Mitochondrial donation treatment (MDT), was created to avoid mitochondrial disease in children — but it destroys the lives of two human beings. MDT involves removing the nuclei out of a zygote (embryo) and using them as replacements for the nuclei in another zygote. Mitochondria are known as the powerhouse of cells, but they also affect a person’s personality, mental health, and longevity. The eight children were reportedly born ‘healthy,’ but some have developed minor health conditions that may or may not be a result of their conception. The long-term risks of MDT are unknown.

WHO estimates 73 million unborn babies aborted every year—but nobody knows for sure

So when the World Health Organization and the Guttmacher Institute both estimate that 73 million induced abortions occur each year, can they be believed? Or is the real number likely to be smaller? Perhaps much smaller?

British Assisted Suicide Bill Could Result in Criminal Killings Going Unnoticed

The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, as introduced to the House of Lords, amends the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 to ensure there is no statutory duty to investigate deaths “caused by the self-administration by the deceased of an approved substance”. This means that under Kim Leadbeater’s Bill, the deaths of those who die by assisted suicide would not be automatically referred to a coroner, as is normally required in cases of “unnatural deaths” or those caused by the administration of drugs.

Young Men Are Returning to Church

Young Men Are Returning to Church

There is growing evidence of a “quiet revival” of Christian belief among Gen Z men. The New York Times reported last fall that, for the first time in American history, men now outnumber women in churches. The trend is especially pronounced among twenty-somethings. Last year, a survey by the Public Religion Research Institute found that 39% of Gen Z women identify as religiously unaffiliated, compared with just 31% of men.

How Obergefell Harmed Children

How Obergefell Harmed Children

Marriage, as I argued, has always served a vital function: binding children to their biological mothers and fathers whenever possible. The government’s interest in marriage has never been about adult companionship. That is because the state generally has no interest in regulating when human relationships begin or end, whether that be a friendship or a romantic partnership. Marriage is the exception.
