Marrying for the “Right” Reasons

Currently, marriage rates are decreasing, and this decline may be at least partially due to the growing perception of marriage’s irrelevance. Ironically, this also means that the tangible benefits of marriage are likely to increase. As the Supreme court stated in Obergefell v. Hodges, marriage is “the keystone of social order” and “essential to our most profound hopes and aspirations.” Given marriage’s perceived importance to American society, there is little doubt that new benefits will be proposed as a means of combating these declining marriage rates. One such benefit is already under consideration.

Convicted child sex offender back in court after being charged with possession of AI-generated child pornography

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut published a press release on Monday related to a man being charged with child exploitation offenses related to artificial intelligence-generated child pornography. Travis Tilley, 40, originally from Naugatuck, appeared in New Haven federal court on Monday after he was charged with the receipt of possession of child pornography. It appears that this is not the first time Tilley has had a run-in with authorities related to child exploitation crimes.

Nigeria: herdsmen kill 28 Christians in three days

“Some groups of Muslim Fulanis have attacked three Christian villages in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue state”, said area resident Florence Aaka, who said 28 Christians were killed. According to Henry Agba, chairman of the Gwer West Local Government Council, armed herdsmen killed the Christians in Mbabwande village, Gyaluwa village and a community along Naka/Adoka Road.
