Do Transgender Women Have a ‘Right to Gestate’?

Bioethics discourse is moving in an ever increasingly radical direction. One recent and recurring theme is that biological men who identify as women should have a “right to gestate,” that is, to obtain uterus transplants so they can become pregnant and give birth.

The most recent such paper was just published in Acta Biomedica, an international peer-reviewed, PubMed-indexed, journal. The idea here is that since science now allows women to receive uterus transplants (UTx) — called “consumerist procedures” — the same justifications require it to be available to biological men whose lives would be thereby “enhanced.”

Marriage/Family

A Distinctly American Family Policy.

The progressive vision for family policy tends to be heavy on the policy, light on the family. After all, despite decades of social science demonstrating that parents and families really do matter for child well-being, the Left’s view of family is one that celebrates non-discrimination as the highest good. Read more

Reversing Roe could strengthen Hispanic families, pro-life leader believes.

Treviño said her reasoning is that her former employer intentionally focuses on promoting abortion to minorities, especially Hispanics and African Americans. Together, these two minority groups account for more than half of the abortions performed every year in the United States, well above their collective one-third share of the U.S. population, she noted. Read more

How to Practice Gratitude & Improve Your Family’s Mental Health.

We are all grappling with the ever-changing rules and demands placed on us by our “new normal” life at home, school, and work. It is mentally and physically exhausting work that often has no tangible reward. We may not be able to change this reality at the moment. However, we can focus our energies on “controlling what we can control” and practicing gratitude for the events—no matter how small—that enrich our days. Read more

Why we must teach our children to be critical thinkers.

When did “Science” become a deity requiring our faith? And isn’t adaptability one of the core principles of Science, that hypotheses change as research discovers new data? In a world that has erroneously become divided into “Science believers” and “Anti-Science conspiracy theorists,” it’s crucial that intentional parents raise children to be critical thinkers who can see both sides – and the middle. Read more

Ex-lesbian who fled US to protect daughter facing prosecution by Biden admin.

Lisa Miller is the biological mother of Isabella, who was conceived through artificial insemination in 2001. Miller had entered into a civil union in Vermont with Jenkins the previous year. Jenkins has never adopted Isabella and her name is not on Isabella’s birth certificate.

Nevertheless, when Miller and Jenkins’ civil union was dissolved in 2004, a Vermont judge took the legally unprecedented step of declaring Jenkins Isabella’s second “mother,” despite her complete lack of biological and legal connections to the girl. Read more

How Activist Teachers Recruit Kids.

If students aren’t especially interested in attending an LGBTQ club, if the leaders have trouble maintaining membership, if parents oppose them and schools, as Caldeira complains, often fail to support them—why on earth are teachers pushing them? “For those of you that are running or are thinking of running your own GSA or GSA-type club, always remember that youth are the drivers of change,” Caldeira offers. If you want to bring a new world into existence, it seems—a good place to start is with other people’s kids. Read more

General Assembly Adds Abortion Language to Resolutions on Clean Water and Rare Diseases.

Delegates from Russia and Gulf nations complained about the addition of abortion-related terms in two General Assembly resolutions on rare diseases and access to clean water and sanitation.

Sexual and reproductive health policy is the most well-funded item on the global health agenda, with over $12 billion in aid annually. It is an issue addressed annually by the General Assembly and the Economic and Social Council. Access to safe drinking water, sanitation, and programming to help people living with rare diseases, on the other hand, are neglected and underfunded. Read more

Progressive Legal Scholars Have Long Known Roe’s Reasoning Is Calamitous.

Roe is indefensible as a matter of honest constitutional interpretation. It short-circuited the political process and poisoned the Court. Its systematic flaws, widely acknowledged by a variety of progressive and pro-choice legal scholars, caused the judiciary to become the branch most, not “least[,] dangerous to the political rights of the Constitution.” Read more

Spanish Evangelical Alliance on surrogacy: “It exploits and commodifies women”.

In its document, the AEE argues that “this practice should not be authorised or legalised”; it calls for it to be considered as “medical, physical and psychological violence against women”; and demands that “any activity related to intermediation that facilitates access to these practices in third countries be prohibited in Spain”. Read more

Religion

Religious Freedom Means Both Worship and Witness.

A militant secularism that is hostile to religion has been on the rise for many years. During the pandemic, it grew to fruition. Who would have imagined that a local mayor could stop citizens from worshipping while a casino could still operate? But then who would have imagined that federal, state, and local leaders could punish Americans for living according to the objective truth that we are created male and female? Who could have imagined that faith-based adoption agencies would be punished for living out their belief that marriage is between a man and a woman? Or a cake artist, a florist, or a web designer?

Believing that all we need to do is look inside in order to flourish has not made America more pluralistic. Instead, hyper-individualism has led to surging intolerance against those who dissent from new orthodoxies on sexuality, marriage, and the family. Read more

Going Forward with Religious Freedom and Nondiscrimination.

As a religious person who has served in government at both federal and state levels and now as a leader in the worldwide Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have always known of the tensions experienced when persons who rely on the free exercise of religion are conflicted between duties to God and duties to country. More recently, I have come to understand better the distress of persons who feel that others are invoking constitutional rights like free exercise of religion and freedom of speech to deny or challenge their own core beliefs and their access to basic constitutional rights. I deeply regret that these two groups have been drawn into conflict with one another. Read more

Memphis Christian School Under Attack For Affirming Christian Values.

A nationally-renowned private Christian school in Memphis is facing attacks from LGBT activists and a radical county commissioner for following the teachings of the Holy Bible.

Briarcrest Christian School drew fire after they announced a training session for parents and students on a Gospel response to sexuality and gender titled, “God Made Them Male and Female. And It Was Good. A Gospel Response to Culture’s Gender Theory.” Read more

Transgender athletes should not have to lower testosterone to compete, IOC says as it changes guidelines.

The new framework also states that no athlete should be excluded from competition on the grounds of a perceived “unfair and disproportionate advantage” due to their gender.

The guidelines will replace ones from 2015 and reverses the IOC’s previous stance on transgender athletes. Read more

Transgender Professor At Old Dominion University Rebrands Pedophiles As ‘Minor-Attracted Persons’.

The latest attempt to normalize pedophilia comes from Allyn Walker, an assistant professor at Old Dominion University who uses the nonsensical pronouns “they/them” and has advocated for pedophilia to be “destigmatized,” calling for pedophiles to instead be referred to with the insultingly euphemistic term “minor attracted persons.” Read more

Claims about a ‘trans genocide’ are fake news at its worst.

On November 1st, Forbes published a column from writer Dawn Ennis about Dave Chappelle. Ennis, a trans-identified male, attempted to assert a very sloppy link between the violence trans people are purported to face and Dave Chappelle’s popular comedy special in which he very mildly critiqued the trans rights movement.

The disingenuity is particularly profound considering that neither one of the two trans women Ennis cites in his article while trying to craft the narrative died due to their gender identity. In fact, their deaths had nothing to do with being transgender at all. Read more
